Having captured the
metamorphosis process of the monarch butterfly, we were privileged to see an
eastern black swallowtail newly emerged from its amazing chrysalis recently. This is a male, I believe, which hatched in our back garden. It's fantastic seeing the beauty and wonder of God's creation here!

The colour - of the butterfly's wings - is visible through the clear chrysalis.
The butterfly has emerged - leaving an empty shell of a chrysalis!
And here's the butterfly on the ground nearby. We helped it up onto a flower so that its wings could dry completely prior to flying. :)
