The 15th of December marked one year since Candace's life was saved after her post-partum heamorrhage. (You can read Candace's story
here and
here.) We had an Indian Christmas meal with a group of close friends and then surprised Candace with showering her with blessings and speaking life and prayers over her. It was a very special time for us. One of her friends, Casey, who went through a similar experience shortly before Candace's emergency, joined us over the telephone and shared this passage. It is fitting to re-share it below:
I will extol the Lord at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips.
I will glory in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Glorify the Lord with me;
let us exalt his name together.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.
Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
(Psalm 34: 1 - 8 NIV)

Candace with a gift from one of our friends. The song is Showers of Blessings and it is what Candace sung to herself while flying to the hospital in the ambulance. It is very special.
