Contrasting Water Birds...

The small and dainty lesser yellow legs is contrasted with the much larger, clumsy-looking great blue heron in these few photos. Both of these water birds are frequent visitors to the pond behind the barn. :)

 The lesser yellow legs is a lovely little bird.

It can often be seen wading along the shore in the early evening.

The great blue heron can also be seen looking for tasty morsels in the early evening light.

 It is a majestic bird - especially when spotted in flight.
