Terre Haute Air Show...

Candace was busy with her sister's bachelorette party on Saturday 18th August, and so Riaan and I had a boy's day out. We drove up to Terre Haute Regional Airport for the Terre Haute Air Show. Unfortunately, we spent several hours sitting in traffic and standing in long queues waiting for buses to take us from the parking to the venue, but once we were at the airport we had a great time! There were many amazing aeroplanes on static display and the aerial manoeuvres of the jets and fighters flying overhead was simply breathtaking. The final act of the day was the United States Navy's Blue Angels display team, and they were magnificent to watch! Riaan loved it!

We then headed back to the bus drop-off/pick-up point, but as there were so many people cutting the line and a huge sense of disorganisation, I decided to walk the five kilometres (three miles) back to the car, pushing (the now fast asleep) Riaan in his little stroller. We were back at the car by 18h00 and then drove home, stopping at a quaint little ice-cream shop for a bite to eat and a treat for Riaan, who was wonderfully well-behaved and patient throughout a rather trying day at times.

The skills are quite outstanding!
Four jets fly directly overhead!
Waiting in the line for the bus - before I decided that it would be quicker to walk back to the car instead. :)
