Field Trip to the Indiana Military Museum...

Late last month, I took Riaan and Eliza on a field trip to the Indiana Military Museum in nearby Vincennes. It was Eliza's first time here, since Riaan and I visited this museum in May 2021.

This fantastic museum has an impressive array of old fighter jets and planes, as well as many interesting displays, focusing on the early Revolutionary wars all the way up to recent history. It was a dreary day, which made it an ideal day to support a local museum! The children had lots of fun seeing the exhibits and especially all the fighter planes.

We ate lunch beforehand.
The kiddos in front of an M3 Stuart light tank.
Eliza thought the horse wearing a gas mask was interesting!
View looking down the main gallery.
World War II at home display.
Stearman Model 75 biplane.
Eliza's absolute favourite was the soldier sitting on the toilet in the barracks. There was a motion sensor, which made a flushing toilet sound when you approached. She approached multiple times! :)
WWII (LCVP) Higgins boat, one of only 12 in existence.
Jungle warfare display.
Bombed cathedral display.
Vietnam war display.
The sail of the USS Indianapolis (SSN-697).
Eliza and Riaan try and outrun an F-16 Fighting Falcon!
