The day after Christmas (Monday, December 26th), the weather had finally warmed up to around the freezing mark, which allowed us to have a family adventure. We took our three children to sled at the East Side Park. There's a fairly steep embankment that separates the two dams, and it made an excellent sledding slope!
There were other people there who had had the same idea as us, and they were even kind enough to let us use their large inner tube―to supplement our little round sled. The two older kiddos enjoyed sledding in the snow, while Anya was fascinated by the duck that came to say hello. :)
Candace, Eliza and Riaan on the tube.
Riaan heads down the slope.
Eliza heads off on her own.
The view down towards the parking lot.
Anya did not enjoy the brisk temperatures...
But she did enjoy the duck which came to investigate us. :)
Riaan and Candace have a rough landing.
The solidly frozen lake―covered in a layer of snow.
