Kids Safety Day...

A few weeks ago, our church hosted a safety day for the children. A large ladder truck from the local fire station came to visit, along with a couple of police cruisers - including a K-9 unit. The children (and adults, too) had lots of fun asking questions about fire safety, what you should do in the event of an emergency, and how to call 911. It was a great morning!

It was a really interesting time...
... And one of the firefighters even got kitted out in his firefighting gear!
Next, we met a couple of policemen and a lovely police dog, Loki.

The children also enjoyed turning on the lights and sounding the siren in the police car. :)
Throughout West Africa, Europe, South Africa, the USA, and the South Atlantic Ocean. Our adventure continues as we seek God's will for our life after Mercy Ships.

- I am a 40-year-old South African whose journey with Mercy Ships began in 2007 when I joined the M/V "Africa Mercy" in Liberia. I met my wife Candace in Sierra Leone in 2011 and together we served with Mercy Ships until December 2012. We worked with Mercy Vision in South Africa during 2013, and are now settled with our three kiddos in the USA.
