Another Midland Painted Turtle...

I came across this attractive midland painted turtle in the wild flower bed outside our barn early one morning. These turtles are plentiful here in southern Indiana, and we have several of them in the pond near our home. They are often seen sunning themselves on a submerged tree branch in the pond. The colours, especially the red, are quite brilliant! :)
