Snakes at the East Side Park...

We walked around the lake at the East Side Park in Washington several weeks ago. There were lots of northern banded water snakes sunning themselves on the rocks and swimming in the lake. These attractive snakes are often mistaken as venomous, but they are in fact nonvenomous, although they can be rather aggressive if threatened.
