We were so thankful to spend Christmas with our family in South Africa this year. We had a traditional Christmas Eve dinner at Shirley's house. It was my first Christmas back in South Africa since the end of 2013, and I was so excited to be home for this special holiday!
In previous years, Christmas Eve dinner has alternated between my parent's house one year and my aunt Jen's house the next. But since COVID-19, Shirl and Montassir have hosted it outside in their large garden. In this way, family can still meet and eat together and at the same time be safe in the fresh air outside.
We had a lovely time and enjoyed delicious food with even better company. We were also able to take an updated family photo thanks to my camera's self-timer. :) It was so much fun to introduce the children to South African Christmas traditions, too!
