Day Trip to Troon...

On Saturday, 17th June, we walked to Central Station in Glasgow, from where we caught a train to Troon - a picturesque seaside village on the shores of the Firth of Clyde. While light rain pittered and pattered throughout the morning, our time at the beach was lovely. Our three children, especially, enjoyed being by the sea again! They dug in the sand and paddled in the sea with their cousins, and made special memories at the beach again.

We ate our picnic lunch at the fantastic play area near the beach. I also took a stroll along the promenade that stretches along the coast. Living away from the beach, I have come to love being back at the beach - and today was no exception. The smell of the salt, the cries of the seagulls, the sounds of waves crashing on rocks. It's where my heart is home.

But soon enough, it was time to pack up and walk back to the train station - but not before we all snacked on Flake 99 soft serve ice creams! :) We were all rather tired on the train ride and it was a quick trip back to Glasgow - especially for me as I had a nice nap - and then the packing started for my early morning departure for my next adventure in Beirut, Lebanon!
