Daviess County Museum with Mom...

I took Mom to visit the Daviess County Museum on Saturday, 7th September - after we came back from the cycle documented in the last post. We enjoyed looking at all the interesting exhibits and learning about the area's history.

The Underground Railroad - a secret network of people helping individuals escape to freedom - ran through Daviess County during the Civil War years.
There was a toy manufacturer, Corcoran Manufacturing Company (Cor-Cor Toys), based in Washington in the early years of the 20th Century.
Waiting to enter the funeral exhibit - which was very interesting.
 Model hearses throughout the ages.
Old gramophone - similar to one of the ones my parents have in Cape Town.
