Bath Time Blues...

Someone is not a fan of bath time. Thankfully I have a good little helper to help me get the old boy clean!
He was not impressed! :)

Autumn Family Photos...

Candace's talented sister took some amazing autumn family photos recently. This also doubled as our maternity photos for Anya Joy. We were thrilled with the results! :) Thanks Hannah for our photo shoot!

Autumn Cycle...

I enjoyed the colours of autumn on a cycle several weeks ago.

I then came back home and enjoyed a healthy salad, too. Yum!

My Beautiful Kiddos...

These two are the best and have such special, unique personalities! I love them so much! :)

Autumn is for Crunchy Leaves!

We're only one month into proper Autumn and the colours and falling leaves are everywhere. The kiddos have loved playing outside with their paddling pool filled up with leaves. (As opposed to water.) It's awesome to see them play in the crunchy leaves together!

They even moved the slide into position so they could slide into the leaf pool! :)

Fall Colours...

It's beginning to look a lot like autumn around here! The colours are so pretty. It's definitely my favourite season in the USA!

Riaan's Rocket...

Riaan's imagination and creativity continues to blossom as he grows older. Not only is he building all sorts of amazing things out of Lego, but he is also a really talented artist. He drew this space scene, complete with rocket and moon, recently. It reminds me of the space rocket in Wallace and Gromit's A Grand Day Out. :) I was very proud of him!

Omelettes for Supper...

I've struggled with inspiration around supper times lately, but I decided to keep it simple lately. I made yummy omelettes for supper last week. It was the first time I'd ever tried to make omelettes and I was quite happy with the result - and the kiddos loved them! :)

Folding the omelette in half was rather challenging...
But the end result was quite yummy, all the same!

Fire Pit...

I used the leftover bricks from our landscaping to make a little fire pit for our braais and bonfires. I was quite happy with the result! :)

Cycling to Odon...

Ever since settling in Indiana I'd always wanted to cycle from Washington to Odon or vice versa. I got that ticked off the list recently, when I cycled from our home to Candace's grandparent's house north of Odon. I cycled through the tiny towns of Plainville and Elnora on my cycle. It was only 42 hard kms (or 26 miles), but I was cycling into a stiff easterly breeze the whole ride, which made it quite tiring!

Candace and the kiddos met me at her grandparent's house and so I got a lift home. :)

Wildfire Haze...

We had poetry teatime again in our back garden recently. Smoke from the wildfires in California, Oregon and Washington had made their way to our corner of southern Indiana and created hazy skies. Breathing quality was fine though, since the smoke was many 1000s of feet high, but it still created an apocalyptic atmosphere. It also made me think of all those on the West coast and how much worse it is for them there.

The sun seen through the hazy atmosphere. The sky would have been blue if it wasn't for the upper-level smoke.
Poetry teatime for the win!
Family selfie. The smoke adds a hazy filter to the normal light.
