I went for a lovely cycle on Wednesday, 27th April. It was Freedom Day in South Africa. This public holiday commemorates the day when South Africa held its first democratic elections back in 1994. I can still remember the day that officially heralded the advent of democracy and the destruction of the apartheid regime. I proudly donned my South African cycling kit and even made a South African flag in the parking lot of the local East Side Park! :)
Throughout West Africa, Europe, South Africa, the USA, and the South Atlantic Ocean. Our adventure continues as we seek God's will for our life after Mercy Ships.

- I am a 40-year-old South African whose journey with Mercy Ships began in 2007 when I joined the M/V "Africa Mercy" in Liberia. I met my wife Candace in Sierra Leone in 2011 and together we served with Mercy Ships until December 2012. We worked with Mercy Vision in South Africa during 2013, and are now settled with our three kiddos in the USA.
