Prophetstown State Park Camping...

We joined Candace's parents at Prophetstown State Park for the weekend of 22nd - 24th July. They were camping in their caravan (camper in American lingo) and we pitched our tent on their campsite. We had a fun time sharing meals and cycling the trails together, but most of the Saturday was dreary with severe thunderstorms rolling through, which meant we were hunkered down in the camper for hours.

I was able to go for an early-morning cycle before the storms hit, and we did visit the nature centre and a playground in a break between the showers. Once the weather had cleared after 4pm we did have a family bike ride, too. More rain was approaching on Sunday morning, and so we decided to break camp and leave early. Overall, it was a fun weekend despite the weather - and the storm clouds made for amazing photos! :)
