The Bluff...

If you drive as far as you can drive in a westerly direction, out past the Potato Patches, you get to an area known as The Bluff. This is where the large red volcanic slope called Burntwood is located. From here you can see both Tristan's neighbouring islands, Nightingale and Inaccessible. We also saw the island's emergency shelter as well as the Administrator's camping hut. Candace and I walked out to The Bluff once, and drove out that way on a number of occasions too.

Both Nightingale and Inaccessible Islands visible here - as is the Administrator's hut.
A closer look at Nightingale Island - 26 miles or 42 kms away.
